When I first started, I had nothing more than a fixed zoom lens and a desire to create. Over time, I built up more kit, upgrading cameras and collecting lenses as though each one might unlock something new. But carrying it all soon became a burden. Airports became rituals of frustration — security guards rummaging through bags, baffled by the jigsaw puzzle of glass and metal, while I stood by watching.
At some point, I realised that photography wasn’t about owning the most gear or swapping lenses at every corner. The weight of it all was slowing me down, distracting me from the reason I started in the first place. So, I sold it off, piece by piece, to others just starting their own journeys.
Now, I keep it simple: one camera, one lens, and maybe a tripod if the moment calls for it. Less about equipment, more about vision. After all, the best photograph isn’t in the bag — it’s in the eye.
